A warrant was issued for a 21 year old Union City man concerning theft of property at Walmart.
Union City police reports said the warrant was issued for Jonathan Kirk, of North County Home Road, on a Class E felony charge of theft of property over $1,000.
Police reports said an officer was dispatched to the West Reelfoot Avenue location after store security observed Kirk with a gaming system placed into an empty charcoal grill box.
Kirk reportedly scanned the grill box bar code, a lighter, and a gaming headset at the self checkout for just over $416.
When attempting to leave the store, security personnel observed the grill box was cut open, with a game system inside valued at $1,300.
When told to come to the Walmart office, reports said Kirk ran through the parking lot and left the scene in a Mercedes S43.
