Weakley County Schools held a county-wide in-service event last week.
During the event Director Jeff Cupples and the school board listed some accomplishments that the school district had achieved.
3rd grade reading scores were 11th in the state, 4th grade scores were 18th, and 5th grade scores were 12th in the state.
Weakley County was 8th in the state with seniors scoring a 21 or higher on the ACT. The county was also ranked 6th in Tennessee for child well-being.
Mr. Cupples said the hard work of Weakley County teachers is what allows the district to excel.
Weakley County Schools return to class on August 7th.
