A corporate change in plans for Big Lots has lead to the closing of their Union City location.
Big Lots recently announced plans to close 35-to-40 of their 1,398 locations nationwide due to a slump in sales.
Following the initial announcement, the company expanded the closing of stores to 298, with Union City being one of three sites in Tennessee.
Obion County Joint Economic Development CEO Lindsey Theobald told Thunderbolt News she was disappointed to hear the announcement.(AUDIO)
Big Lots announced a decrease in sales of $114.5 million dollars from the first quarter of 2023 to this year.
