In the statewide Primary Elections Thursday night, the Weakley County Mayor race was decided by a margin of nearly 2 to 1.
Dale Hutcherson was voted at the new Mayor Elect to fill the unexpired term of former County Mayor Jake Bynum.
In the race, Hutcherson received 2,982 votes, followed by John Robert Freeman’s 1,593 and Danny Powers 231 votes.
