Weakley County Schools held a county wide in-service event today at UT Martin.
Teachers from across the district were in attendance as School Board Director Jeff Cupples announced teachers of the year, recognized years of service, gave updates about the schools, and emphasized school performance.
Mr. Cupples said the event was organized to bring faculty together and acknowledge their accomplishments.
The event also included an appearance from keynote speaker Dr. Brad Johnson, an author of 15 books and educational trainer.
Weakley County schools return to class on Wednesday, August 7th and expect to have about 4,000 students enrolled.
