Girl Scouts Heart of the South has awarded Martin resident, Sadie Clairborne, the Girl Scout Gold award.
The Gold Award is Girl Scouting’s highest award and requires a girl to investigate needs in her community and partner with those that can help. Ms. Claireborne also received an $8,000 scholarship from the Girl Scouts.
Ms. Clairborne created pocket-sized informational booklets on anxiety, bullying, eating disorders, depression, and suicide that would be readily available for students at Martin Middle School.
Clairborne is a recent graduate of Westview and plans on attending UT Martin
