The Tennessee Education Lottery has set a new fiscal year record for education.
Lottery officials announced a transfer of $519.3 million dollars to initiatives that include college scholarships, grants and after school programs.
The new fiscal year record surpassed the prior year by nearly four million dollars.
Since ticket sales began in Tennessee on January 20th of 2004, the lottery has raised over $7.5 billion dollars.
During that time, more than two million scholarships and grants have been awarded.
