Agriculture equipment giant John Deere is laying off salaried workers as sales tank.
Agriculture Dive reported more cuts coming, after the tractor giant reduced its workforce by 1,800 employees earlier this year.
Officials with John Deere said with farmer incomes declining at record levels, agriculture equipment makers are struggling to sell tractors and combines.
The pressure is forcing John Deere and their peers to slow production and cut costs where possible.
In June, two-wheel tractor sales fell more than 16-percent, with combine harvester sales dropping more than 30-percent according to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers.
