Excessive Heat Warning Issued for Ken-Tenn Area

The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the Ken-Tenn area for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Actual daytime temperatures in the mid-90’s will create heat index values up to 112 degrees.

Heat related illnesses increase significantly during high heat and high humidity events.

Anyone required to be outdoors for an extended period of time is urged to drink plenty of fluids, especially water, and to wear light colored, loose fitting clothing.

Periodic break are also recommended in the shade, or indoors in an air conditioned location.

Anyone with outdoor pets are urged to provide adequate shade and plenty of fresh water.
