A fundraiser for the Union City Police Department was a big success Saturday night.
The “Battle of the Badges” softball game, featuring the Police Department and Obion County Sheriff’s Office, drew a large crowd and netted over $6,800 for the “Shop with a Cop” program.
Police Chief Ben Yates said they were very pleased with the game and community support.(AUDIO)
Chief Yates said the goal of all players and supporters was to raise funds to help needy children during the Christmas season.(AUDIO)
A fish and hotdog supper, and concessions from Pat’s Porch, also contributed to the “Shop With a Cop” funds.
