A Union City man was charged with shoplifting at Walmart on West Reelfoot Avenue.
Union City police were contacted after store security personnel observed 55 year old Sammie Barfield skip scanning items at the checkout.
Police reports said Barfield was caught before leaving the store, with 22 consumable goods recovered valued at just over $150.
Barfield was charged with shoplifting and given a General Sessions court date of July 30th.
