Obion County Budget Committee Chairman Explains Need for School System Budget Cuts

Obion County Budget Committee Chairman Sam Sinclair Jr. says the county government had no choice in reducing funding for the school system.

Following Monday’s County Commission meeting, Sinclair met with local media members to discuss the reasoning behind the school budget cuts.(AUDIO)

With the school board having to cut building maintenance from this year’s budget, Sinclair said funding will be available for needed projects.(AUDIO)

County Commissioners voted unanimously to approve a $73 million dollar budget for the new fiscal year.
