A Murray State sophomore has earned her spot at the USA Olympic Track and Field Trials.
Murray State Associate AD Dave Winder said Chelby Melvin, of St. Louis, will participate on Thursday in Eugene, Oregon.
Melvin was named Second Team All-American after the NCAA Regional in Lexington.
During the season, Melvin won the 400 meter hurdle championship in the Missouri Valley Conference, and was also part of the Racers conference championship in the 4×400 meter relay.
She becomes the first Murray State athlete to receive an Olympic Trial invitation since 2012.
