A Paducah woman has been arrested and charged with child abuse.
McCracken County Sheriff’s reports said a lengthy investigation resulted in the arrest of 35 year old Jessica Banton on first degree assault and first degree criminal abuse of a victim under the age of 12.
In January, the Sheriff’s Office was contacted by an out of state hospital concerning a three-year old female with fractured bones and injuries consistent with abuse.
An investigation resulted in the arrest of Ms. Banton this week, who is the child’s biological mother.
She is being held at the McCracken County Regional Jail on a $100,000 bond.
