A former Fulton Independent School employee was arraigned in Obion County Circuit Court on Monday.
32 year old Katie Denise Lane, of South Fulton, was indicted by the Obion County grand jury on charges of Class-B statutory rape by an authority figure and Class-C sexual battery by an authority figure.
Ms. Lane was arrested by South Fulton police on June 12th following an investigation.
The indictment stated the charges stemmed from a sexual encounter on September 28th of 2023, involving an individual at least 13 years of age and under 18 years of age.
Ms. Lane was issued a $15,000 bond.
During arraignment on Monday, Ms. Lane was appointed a public defender and issued an August 5th court date.
Police reports said Ms. Lane was placed on leave by the Fulton Independent School System during the investigation, and later terminated.
