A recent survey showed Memphis as the worst place in America to raise a family.
WalletHub, a personal finance company, released its list of “Best and Worst Places to Raise a Family in 2024”.
The survey took the 150 most populated U.S. cities and two most populated cities in each state, to compile a list of 182 locations.
The five metrics of the survey were based on family fun, health and safety, education and childcare, affordability and socioeconomics.
Following a combined scoring in each category, Memphis was ranked at No. 182, followed by Detroit, Cleveland, Newark and Gulfport, Mississippi.
The survey also listed Knoxville at 123 and Nashville at 116 in the survey of the 182 locations.
