A Union City man now faces an additional charge following the attempt to serve an arrest order.
Union City police reports said an officer observed 23 year old Devin Newton walking on Sunswept Drive, with knowledge of an active arrest order from Obion County General Sessions Court.
When advising Newton of the order, police reports said he began backing away and attempted to flee the scene.
The officer then deployed their taser, with Newton taken into custody.
EMS personnel responded to the scene to evaluate Newton, who was cleared and taken to the Obion County Jail on the arrest order and a new charge of evading arrest.
