Tennessee Baseball Headed to MCWS

The number-one seeded Tennessee Vols Baseball program is headed back to the NCAA Men’s College World Series for the second time in as many years, and for the 7th time in school history.

 

The Vols baseball team defeated the Evansville Purple Aces 12-1 in the Knoxville Super Regional Sunday afternoon for the right to move on to the College World Series. The Vols took two of three in the series to punch their ticket in back-to-back years for the first time in program history. Tennessee defeated Evansville Sunday with an onslaught of offense, bashing seven homers in the win.  John Wilkerson with the final call:

 

 

The Men’s College World Series will feature the final eight teams still playing in the NCAA Road to Omaha. The Super Regionals will be completed today with either (7) Georgia or (10) NC State punching their ticket to the World Series. The other teams that have advanced are (2) Kentucky, (3) Texas A&M, (4) North Carolina,  (8) Florida State, (12) Virginia, and Florida.
