Weakley County Election Administrator Alex Britt has announced sixteen candidates will be on the ballot in the August 1st Election.
Three candidates will be on the ballot for the unexpired term of the Weakley County Mayor’s office. They are Independent candidates Danny Powers and Dale Hutcherson and Republican candidate John Robert Freeman.
For the office of Weakley County School Board in District 5 incumbent Wendell Cates and Independent Margaret B Lewis are seeking the seat.
In district 9 incumbent school board chairmen and a Republican candidate Josh Moore will face Independent candidate Shannon Taylor.
Incubment Lisa Odle has no opponent for Weakley County Assessor of Property and will be elected to a four year term.
Also School board members Gath Meeks from District 1 and Doug Sims in District 7 have no opponents.
For the office of District 1 Constable P J Russell and Adam Ledezma are seeking an unexpired term.
Also Republican Derek Coble is seeking the unexpired constable’s term in District 4.
And Republican Austin Powell and Independent Keith Sumner are seeking an unexpired term in District 9.
No one filed a position for Constable in District 6.
The election will be held August 1st. Early voting begins July 12th .
