Discussion on the potential effects of school vouchers came up during the Obion County Budget Committee meeting on Monday.
During the agenda item concerning the county school budget for the upcoming year, Commissioner Danny Jowers expressed his concern over Governor Bill Lee’s push for the universal school vouchers program.(AUDIO)

Governor Lee conceded defeat on the issue following the latest state legislative session, when no action was taken by lawmakers.
He has promised to renew the voucher talks next session.
