A Westview High School student athlete is making history today at the Spring Fling in Murfreesboro. Jack Mantooth is competing in the 3200 meter and is running at 8am in the State Track and Field meet.
Later today Mantooth will be joining the soccer team when Westview plays today as the Chargers play Madison Academic at 6:30 this evening. Mantooth, a sophomore, is believed to be the first student athlete to compete in two events at the Spring Fling on the same day for Westview.
Meanwhile Greenfield’s Brenley Little will be competing in Cross Country today. It is her third trip to the Spring Fling. She is competing on the Dresden Cross Country team because Greenfield does not have a cross country team.
South Fulton has advanced to the TSSAA state softball tournament in Murfreesboro this Tuesday. South Fulton defeated Memphis Middle College 15 to nothing Monday and will play Oliver Springs and 2 o’clock Tuesday in Class-A. WQAK will have the broadcast beginning at 1:40 on 105-7 the Quake.
Meanwhile Halls, the team that defeated South Fulton will play Gordonsville at 2 Tuesday also in Class-A.
The Westview Softball team will be traveling to Murfreesboro today. Westview will play Liberty Creek of Gallatin at 3pm in Class-AA. Westview is the defending State Champion in Class- AA. Mix 101.3 will have the broadcast beginning at 2:40 on WCMT FM .
In Class-A baseball Union City will play Eagleville at Eagleville High school Tuesday at 6:30. Meanwhile Gordonsville will play McKenzie at 7:30 at Rockvale High School
Also in Class-AA baseball Milan will play Alcoa Tuesday at 6:30 at Riverdale High School while Stewart Creek high school will host Huntingdon and Smith County at 4pm
