Weakley County Schools Director Jeff Cupples issued a statement regarding Greenfield High School’s Friday night commencement ceremony.
Mr. Cupples said all Weakley County Schools’ graduation ceremonies are planned to ensure the safety of all participants.
He went on to say “upholding student privacy and confidentiality is a fundamental priority and responsibility of the school district.
Mr. Cupples said he respects public interest, privacy and confidentiality which preclude discussion of personal information about students.
Some graduates were seated in an area that kept them and others safe.
The press release was responding to a safety issue regarding students and others who attended graduation.
