Kentucky hunters donated a record amount of deer this past season to help feed needy families.

Kentucky’s “Hunters for the Hungry” announced their highest ever totals with more than 3,000 harvested deer donated to the program.

The collected deer resulted in almost 117,000 pounds of venison for food banks and shelters across the state.

“Hunters for the Hungry” accept cash donations throughout the year, which helps pay for the processing of the venison into frozen burger packages.
