Union City High School Hoping Crawford Can End Long Drought in State Track and Field Event

Union City High School is hoping to end a 60 year drought for state success in a track-and-field event.

In 1964, Tom Jernigan claimed the state championship for Union City in decathlon.

During Monday’s meeting, Director of Schools Wes Kennedy told school board members that Adrian Crawford could be the next champion.(AUDIO)

 

At the Spring Fling, Crawford will participate in the 100 and 400 meter runs, discus, pole vault and triple jump on Wednesday, followed by the long and triple jump, 110 meter hurdles, shot put and 1,500 meter run on Thursday.
