Mayfield High School football coach Joe Morris has announced his decision to retire.
WPSD announced the Hall of Fame coach was stepping away from the Cardinals football program after 25 years.
During his career, Morris has taken the Cardinals to 14 state football final appearances, which resulted in seven state championships.
He leaves the high school program with a record of (300-56), including the 2023 Class 2A State Championship in his final game on the sidelines.
Morris was inducted into the National High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2022.
