Tennessee Farmers Making Good Progress With Spring Planting

The latest report of crop planting in Tennessee shows good progress for state producers.

The United States Department of Agriculture’s report showed 65-percent of the corn crops have now been placed in the ground.

The percentage for this date is just above the five-year-average.

Tennessee farmers are trending to planting more early soybeans, with 38-percent already planted statewide.

This planting is well above the five-year-average of 18-percent.

The latest USDA crop condition report showed winter wheat as 54-percent “good” and 25-percent as “excellent”.
