The United States Department of Agriculture’s report showed 65-percent of the corn crops have now been placed in the ground.
The percentage for this date is just above the five-year-average.
Tennessee farmers are trending to planting more early soybeans, with 38-percent already planted statewide.
This planting is well above the five-year-average of 18-percent.
The latest USDA crop condition report showed winter wheat as 54-percent “good” and 25-percent as “excellent”.
