Union City was the site of a National Day of Prayer event on Thursday.
A crowd of people gathered at Merchants Park in the downtown area, where members of the community prayed for churches, family, education, business, protection and government.

National Day of Prayer is held annually on the first Thursday in May, and Bro. Gray said it was important to the community.(AUDIO)
Those who offered prayer during the event included Jimmy Smith, Jim Glasgow Jr., Dan Huggins, Jeremy Powell, Ezra Johnson, Landon Moore and Ken Pitts.
