The observance of National Day of Prayer will take place today in Union City.
The event will be held at Merchants Park in downtown Union City starting at noon.
Selected individuals from the community will be offering prayer.
National Day of Prayer was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
It is annually held on the first Thursday in May.
