Union City High School basketball standout Malaki Brooks has been named All-State.
School Communications Director Mike Hutchens said Brooks was selected to the Class-A Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State Team.
This season, Brooks was also chosen as the West Tennessee “Player of the Year”, the District 14A and Region 7A Most Valuable Player for regular season and tournament play.
Brooks helped guide the Golden Tornadoes to 29 wins and a Class-A state tournament berth this past season.
He averaged 28.8 points per game, and scored 1,010 points.
Brooks will now continue his education and playing days at Walters State Community College.
