Two local individuals have been named as part of the “20 Most Influential Women in West Tennessee.”
Dr. Julie Hill, of Union City, and Stacie Freeman, of Dresden, were selected as winners of Sterling Awards by the Jackson Area Business and Professional Women for 2024.
Dr. Hill and Ms. Freeman are co-founders of Global Citizen Adventure Corps, a non-profit travel, service and education organization, which partners with Bethel University.
Dr. Hill is the former department director of music at UT-Martin, with Ms. Freeman the founder and director of Global Studies at Bethel University, and a professor of Sociology.
The Sterling Awards were created to honor women who have achieved a significant level of success, while serving as a leader and role model in their business or profession.
