The ROTC Building at the University of Tennessee-Martin has been officially named in honor of retired Lt. General Dennis Cavin.
The naming ceremony was held at the ROTC Building at Hardy Graham Stadium, with Chancellor Yancy Freeman making the introduction.
Chancellor Freeman said Lt. General Cavin was a ”legend and living proof that UT Martin produces incredible people who do incredible things”.
Cavin served as a career Army air defense artillery officer in short range and high-altitude air defense artillery for more than 20 years.
He served in command and leaderships positions from platoon to Army major commands.
Cavin graduated at UT-Martin in 1970, and is also a member of the UT-Martin ROTC Hall of Fame.
