The City of Union City was recognized for their water during a meeting last week.
The Union City Water Department won the Region 8 “Best Tasting Water Competition”.
The announcement came during a meeting of Region Eight held at Discovery Park of America.
The Tennessee Association of Utility Districts Region Eight consists of Benton, Carroll, Crockett, Dyer, Gibson, Henry, Lake, Lauderdale, Obion, and Weakley counties.
During the competition, each water sample was judged on the quality of taste, clarity, and bouquet.
Union City has five employees at the Water Department, which includes Director Jason Moss, Willie Caton, Jason Brewer, Daniel Cleek and Rick Goodman.
