The Obion County School System now has the use of new vehicles thanks to Innovative School Models funds.
School Communications Director Lauren Kendall said the vehicles were purchased with the funds allocated by Governor Bill Lee, with no cost to the districts operating budget.
Herman Jenkins Motors, of Union City, submitted the winning bid for each vehicle, which included a Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck.
The report said the Tahoe and Suburban will be used for transporting students to work based placements, college and industry tours, and student leadership events, with the Cherokee used by the District Specialist to travel from school-to-school.
The Silverado truck will be used for hauling materials for all school programs.
