Multiple media outlets are reporting Kentucky men’s basketball coach John Calipari will become the next coach at the University of Arkansas.
While no official word has come from the university, outlets are reporting Calipari and Arkansas have agreed to a five year deal.
The 65 year old Calipari is a four time SEC Coach of the Year and member of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
Calipari had fallen out of favor with many Kentucky basketball fans the past couple of seasons, which was enhanced by another first round loss in the SEC Tournament and NCAA Tournament this season.
The Kentucky publication, “Cats Pause”, has already released 12 possible coaches to take the position.
During his 15 years with Kentucky, Calipari’s teams have posted a (410-122) record, with one national championship in 2012.
He will replace Eric Mussleman, who left Arkansas for the coaching position at Southern Cal.
