Longtime Union City Broadcaster Honored With Retirement Reception

Longtime Union City radio broadcaster and sales representative Jim Adcock was honored Tuesday with a retirement reception.

Adcock was honored at a ceremony held at the Thunderbolt Broadcasting 104.9 KYTN/105.7 WQAK studios in Union City.

Friends, family and co-workers were on hand to celebrate Adcock’s 59 years of radio service to the community.

Special guest speakers at the ceremony were Thunderbolt Broadcasting President Paul Tinkle, who along with Adcock were the original staff at WALR, now known as KYTN, Union City Mayor Terry Hailey, who worked for many years with Adcock at WENK, and Obion County Mayor Steve Carr, who also worked a stint at WENK.

Presentations and gifts were presented to Adcock, along with many comments and memories shared from those who attended the event.
