The Graves County Sheriff’s Office has identified the hit and run driver from a pedestrian hit and run that occurred Sunday night.

Graves County Sheriff Jon Hayden said approximately 8:30 on Sunday, a red SUV struck a pedestrian in the 1300 block of US Hwy 45 South, just north of the Water Valley community.

The vehicle then fled the scene.

The victim, 37 year old Jamie Jackson of Water Valley, was in the roadway chasing after a dog when she was struck, knocking her several feet.

Ms. Jackson was air lifted to an out of state hospital for injuries received.

The Sheriff’s Office has now identified the vehicle as a 2016 Chevrolet Traverse, driven by 37 year old Latoya D. Johnston, who has ties to the Fulton and Union City area.

Sheriff’s deputies made contact with Ms. Johnston a few hours after the collision, but she failed to show up for an agreed meeting.

Arrest warrants have been issued for Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Injury, Failure to Render Aid, Driving on a Suspended Operators License.

Anyone in the Mayfield, Fulton, or Union City areas that has information on the whereabouts of Latoya D. Johnston, are asked to contact the Graves County Sheriff’s Office or any law enforcement agency.
