A fire at the Greenfield Marble Shop on Lilly Pond Lane destroyed the cabinet building Saturday afternoon about 4:30.
Owner Keith Tucker said they had loaded cabinets into a trailer from the cabinet building and discovered the trailer was on fire.
Fire fighters arrived on the scene quickly and contained the fire to the cabinet shop.
Mr. Tucker said the company will meet with an insurance adjuster this Monday. He said there are five buildings associated with the Marble Shop. The company began in 1983 with cabinet making and later marble for kitchens and bathrooms.
Greenfield Fire Chief Bob Dudley said units from Greenfield, Gibson County, Bradford, Sharon and Dresden poured water and got the fire out. Chief Dudley said the fire was controlled quickly but the cabinet building was destroyed. Cause of the fire at the Marble Shop cabinet building remains under investigation.
