The Union City Fire Department has announced a promotion in ranks.
Fire Chief Karl Ullrich say Richard “Rick” Stacks has been named the department Training Chief.
Stacks is a 22 year veteran of the Union City Fire Department, and has served as Lieutenant since 2018.
He will now be responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing a comprehensive training program for the department, along with providing logistical and training support to the Obion County Fire Chiefs Association.
Chief Ullrich said Stacks has been a passionate advocate for training, public education and firefighter fitness, and provided the inspiration for the annual Union City/Discovery Park of America 911 Memorial Stair Climb.
