Greenfield Names New Police Chief

The Greenfield City Board has named Brian Legons as the city’s new police chief. Chief Legons has been in law enforcement for the past nine years and most recently as police chief for Gleason before stepping outside law enforcement to work for a software company.

Chief Legons is a graduate of the Tennessee Law Enforcement Academy and is a graduate of Greenfield High School.

He succeeds former chief Danny Smith who resigned earlier this year.  Jeff Mathews has been serving as acting chief.

The board received six applicants for the job and interviewed three before hiring Chief Legons.  He expects be on the job in a few days
