The Union City Fire Department will be receiving funds from the 2024 Tennessee Rescue Squad grant program.
Fire Chief Karl Ullrich said the department will receive a 100-percent grant of $39,300 from the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance.
Chief Ullrich said the funds will be used to replace hydraulic extrication equipment, or Jaws of Life, with modern battery-powered equipment.
