Three people died in a two vehicle accident in Graves County Saturday night.
Kentucky State Police at Post 1 were notified around 7:45 of a vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of I-69 between U.S.45 and KY-131.
Moments later multiple calls were received of a head on collision on the Interstate.
An investigation showed 68 year old Shirley Ballard, of Mayfield, mistakenly took the wrong ramp while operarting a Chevroley Trax.
Her vehicle then collided with a Toyota Corolla operated by 21 year old Colton Blankenship, of Vienna, Illinois.
Blankenship was pronounced deceased at the scene, with his passenger, 18 year old Alexander McLean, of Eddyville, Kentucky pronounced deceased at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield.
A second passenger, 22 year old Daniel Guasp, of Nortonville, Kentucky, was pronounced deceased at the Vanderbilt Medical Center.
Ms. Ballard was reported in critical condition after being air-lifted to a Memphis hospital.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
