A Union City woman was scammed for money after being told she had won a cash prize.
Union City police reports said 67 year old Tula Bradley was scammed for $600 through Facebook Messenger.
Ms. Bradley told police she was contacted on Messenger under her brother-in-law’s page, advising that she had won a contest.
Reports said Ms. Bradley was later contacted by an individual who described himself as Agent Daniel Williams with the Department of Health and Human Services.
The scammer said Ms. Bradley had won $65,000 and was instructed to purchase $600 in VISA cards to cover all fees.
After purchasing the cards and giving the numbers to the Agent Williams, Ms. Bradley realized it was a scam.
