Southern Indiana defeated UT Martin women 73-67 in the Elam Center Thursday night. Josie Storey and Kenley McCarn each scored 20 points in the losing effort at home. The Skyhawks fall to 10-14 and 7-6 in the OVC. Southern Indiana improved to 17-6 and 12-1 in the OVC. UT Martin will face Morehead tomorrow with tip off at 1 on WCMT Talk and News.
Meanwhile UT Martin’s Jacob Crews, Issa Muhammad and Jordan Sears helped the Skyhawk to win their sixth win in their last seven tries with a 77-68 win over Southern Indiana.
Jacob Crews pumped in 28 of his game-high 32 points in the second half, also sinking all six of his three-pointers (in just eight attempts) over the final 20 minutes. Jordan Sears joined Lester Hudson, a two time All-American, are now the only players in school history to reach at least 500 points and 100 assists in a single season.
UT Martin improved to 16-10 with a 9-4 mark in OVC. The Screaming Eagles fall to 7-19, 4-9 in the conference. The Skyhawks will hosts league-leading Morehead State tomorrow (Saturday) with air time at 3 for the men on WCMT Talk and News.
