Former high school teacher and Coach Clennon Dailey has died at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah at the age of 82 following a short illness.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 at Murphy in Martin. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie.
Coach Dailey graduated from Bethel University where he played college basketball ball and later taught and coached at Union City, Halls, Lake County and Westview where he retired in 2007.
In addition to teaching social studies and physical education he coached girls and boy’s basketball, golf, and tennis.
After retiring him and his wife Nellie Dailey attended many Westview home basketball games.
Long time fellow teacher Dan Scates said Coach Dailey will be remembered as hardworking, ambitious, dedicated, and passionate for his students and players.
