The Tennessee Higher Education Commission says that students applying for financial aid for college can expect a delay in FAFSA processing.
The U.S. Department of Education say FAFSA information will not be released to colleges until mind March, in previous years records are filled starting in October, this month’s long delay is due to the revamp of the online filling program .
For Students statewide this means you will see college offers at a much later date than usual, but this will not impact available funds for students.
THEC announced that the Tennessee Promise FAFSA deadline has officially moved to May 15th, to accommodate the late opening and to allow students extra time to complete the form.
