One man is jailed and another hospitalized after a shooting Tuesday evening in the 2400 block of Ohio Street in Paducah.

Paducah police were called to a local hospital around 7:30, where they found a 25-year-old man who had been shot in the leg, hip and buttocks.

The victim declined to speak with detectives, and was taken to an out-of-state hospital for
treatment.

Investigations determined the shooting occurred in the parking lot/sidewalk area
outside of an apartment at Elmwood Court, with witnesses identifying the shooter as 19 year old Christopher Trice Jr.

Detectives obtained a warrant charging Trice with first-degree assault, two counts
of first-degree wanton endangerment, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Officers were later dispatched to a “glass break” alarm at Smokers’ Paradise, on H.C. Mathis Drive, where Trice was located and arrested behind the building.

Trice plead guilty in 2023 in McCracken County court to three counts of first-degree
wanton endangerment and one count of first-degree criminal mischief after firing several shots in the parking lot of a local convenience store.
