A search for a missing Troy man continues, following the discovery of his truck Saturday afternoon.
Multiple agencies responded to Walker Tanner Road and West Reelfoot Avenue off Highway 51 in Union City after the pick-up truck of 62 year old Charles Baldridge was located in a rain swollen creek. During recovery efforts, it was determined Mr. Baldridge was not inside the vehicle.
In a news release, Union City Fire Chief Karl Ullrich said first responders combed the step, muddy ditch bank and swift moving water until the search was suspended for safety reasons. The Fire Department, Obion County Rescue Squad and Obion County Sheriff’s Office resumed the search Sunday morning.
Chief Ullrich said the first half-mile of the ditch was searched twice by the bank and the water, with no indication of the victim.
The Obion County Sheriff’s Office will take the lead when search efforts resume Monday in the area of the vehicle discovery.
