Despite some sunshine over the weekend there’s still some ice and snow on secondary roads forcing Weakley County Schools to close school Monday.
Superintendent Jeff Cupples said “after surveying the roads in Weakley County Sunday it’s still not safe to put school buses on their routes.”
Meanwhile Obion County School Superintendent Tim Watkins said schools will be open this Monday.
Fulton County School Superintendent Patrice Chambers said “safety is a pirority and after assessiong the roads they have decided this Monday will be a n N T I Day#4. Friday Jnaury 26 will be a full student day.
The UT Martin main campus will be open on a regular operating schedule Monday, Jan. 22. However, the five UT Martin regional centers in Jackson, Parsons, McNairy County/Selmer, Ripley and Somerville will remain closed Monday, Jan. 22.
Meanwhile FCTA (Fulton County Transit Authority) will be running its regular routes.
