Three Union City Middle School boys’ basketball players, and two from the Lady Tornado team, were selected to the Northwest Middle School Athletic Association All-Conference team at the conclusion of the league tournament Saturday.
School Communications Director Mike Hutchens said Will Kail, Hollister Johnson, and Kobe Maddox were chosen for the squad based on their seasonal play.
Addy Launer and Alli McMillian made the team for the Union City girls.
The Union City boys team fell in the tournament semifinals to South Gibson County 60-43.
Kail knocked down four 3-pointers to finish with a team-high 14 points, with Ayden Lewis scoring nine points and Johnson finishing with eight.
Both Union City teams will conclude their season with two games in the annual Blue Suede Invitational, to be played at South Gibson County High School and Middle School on January 22nd thru the 27th.
The Tornado girls will face Trinity Christian Academy on Monday, January 22nd at 6:00, with the Union City boys to follow against St. Mary at 7:15.
